I'm a full-time Turker as well, and he is right. It's not easy and it is not for everyone. I have also shown a few people how to do it, and they haven't been able to stick with it. You first 10 days is your build time, those first 1000 HITs are really important. The name of the game for the first little bit is number building. You want your approval rating to stay in that 99% mark for the best of the best HITs.
I make decent money sticking with Audio Transcribing and I totally love it. I earned my first promotion with the main requester, and now will be hitting a higher rate. As with ALL AT HOME WORK, you need self-motivation, no one is going to be telling you got to go to work. YOU HAVE TO DO THIS ON YOUR OWN.
At any rate, I have totally found it worth my time.
Lee Calebro 2 years ago (edited) I'm a Turker, and he's right this is not easy and is not for everyone, I have shown 12 people how to Turk and only 3 have stuck with it. also rejections and Hardblocks of your work from requesters can hurt or even make you lose your AMT account, so do your best but even then sometimes you get a scamming requester and they will mass reject people so that they can get free work.
all in all if you grind you can make decent daily, some Turkers that have good Qualifications and /or Masters make very good daily like $100 to $200 a day. But don't jump on MTURK and think that this will happen magically, you have to grind your ass off, but you can make $15 to $20 a day if you just try...

Everything you posted is completely true. I have a full time job and was able to still make $302.00 in my first month. Yes, over three hundred dollars for sitting at the computer. You are exactly right..You do have to stick with it, and it is exactly what you make of it. Can't speak for anybody else, but is supplements me just fine. You are the man.
