Learn how to install an SSL certificate for free on your Namecheap website. We will use the acme script to add an SSL cert from Let's Encrypt and setup the SSL in cPanel.
Thanks! great vid, I had some issues with Namecheap disabling the SSH access by default, but you can enable it under the "exclusive for namecheap consumers" menu in Cpanel.
Check in your Cpanel under the Advanced section and look at Cron Jobs to see if there is an acme.sh cronjob in there. If so, you should be good to go.
What are the steps to remove a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate? Is it a matter of just deleting the directory which stores the certificates? In your example would it be at matter of deleting this directory /home/cereiujy/.acme.sh/site4.xyz ? Or do you have to deregister it with Let's Encrypt?
Yes! That will remove it for you
Yes, you'll want to remove the existing SSL before you can use the one from Let's Encrypt. I believe I show you how to do this in the video.
In case you're not familiar, Namecheap (an SSL provider themselves) will provide free SSL certs for the first year, but then you'll have to pay for them after that. They don't provide the capability to install Let's Encrypt certs. I wanted to make this video to give Namecheap customers an option to issue themselves a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate
Yea... NameCheap hides it for some reason https://www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/10132/27/where-can-i-log-into-my-cpanel-hosting-account/
