Speak

"You're not in the speaking business, you're in the business of marketing your speaking services." ~ James Malinchak (Millionaire speaker)

What can you do today to build credibility for yourself so others would be willing to show up and see you speak?

Simon:

When I started speaking, I had a very simple idea to share (50 Interviews). People remembered me for it. People would refer me and I was often called out as the '50 Interviews' guy. I would go anywhere to share it. It evolved into a talk I could charge for 'The 7 Distinctions of Successful Entrepreneurs' - Yep - no longer one idea, but now seven! Fast forward 8 years. The idea is still a good one, but monetizing it still the challenge.

How to transform the idea into a sustainable business model is much different than coming up with the idea. But as a speaker, I realize it's not my job to transform the idea in to a business model, but rather plant the seed of the idea in others and let it transform them.

I realize that the model worked for me, but that I can't put others into my own model, they have to create it for themselves. Enter the next one idea: "There are certain things you can only know by creating them for yourself."

The one idea is still valid: If you aren't where you want to be life, surround yourself with those who are! 50 Interviews provides a framework to do it!

Emulate to learn, innovate to earn

Here's a great example of what I'd look to emulate: http://www.jfdperfsolutions.com/modules/info/upcoming_engagements.html
