Mission

What's the mission? Engaging in what is in front of me. Embracing the path I'm on with all my effort. Trusting that I'm right where I need to be and am fully capable to the extent that I'm fully engaged.

The confidence of being an explorer in a Design Your Own Adventure game. Taking the perspective of a game allows me to work 'on' my life instead of 'in' my life (think e-myth, applied to your life).

A distinction of successful (happy) people is they step beyond themselves don't get caught up by the everyday drama of life. The 'game' perspective invites a less emotionally charged life by seeing the events more objectively. To see things as they really are requires us to step off the board. If you're caught up 'in' the game, you can't see the forest from the trees.

A new path to enlightenment begins by defining what it means to you to be enlightened. It requires to define what enlightenment is not.

The main point is that living a purpose-driven life means living on purpose—staying nimble so you can pivot to whatever your purpose requires in any given moment.

This quote presents a dynamic and flexible approach to purposeful living that goes beyond having a single, fixed life mission. Key concepts and expand on their implications:

Living "On Purpose" vs. Having "A Purpose"

The distinction here is crucial. Rather than identifying one overarching purpose and rigidly adhering to it, this philosophy suggests living with intentionality in each moment. It's about being purposeful in your actions and decisions, staying alert to what the current situation demands of you.

The Nimbleness Factor

The emphasis on being "nimble" highlights adaptability as a core virtue. Life is unpredictable, and circumstances change rapidly. A truly purposeful person doesn't cling to predetermined plans when they no longer serve the greater good. Instead, they remain flexible enough to pivot when their purpose calls for a new direction.

Purpose as a Living, Breathing Guide

This perspective treats purpose not as a static destination but as a dynamic compass. Your purpose might require you to be a teacher in one season of life, a caregiver in another, an activist during times of injustice, or a supporter during someone else's moment of need. The key is staying attuned to what your deepest values and the world's needs are asking of you right now.

Practical Implications

This approach requires developing several skills: deep self-awareness to recognize your core values, situational awareness to read what's needed in the moment, and emotional flexibility to let go of previous plans when they no longer align with your purpose. It's less about following a career path and more about following a value system that can express itself through various roles and actions.

The philosophy ultimately suggests that authentic purposeful living is more about how you show up in the world than what specific thing you do in the world.

Community, Tribe, Pod

For me, community is everything. As a pod, we become energized when we live on purpose together. In fact, with the clients I've been working with throughout my career, I realized that when the mission is clear, and we are aligned in our intended objective, we are living a purpose driven life.

Wired on purpose

My mission is my purpose and my purpose is my calling. I can't say for certain if it will change. In fact, part of knowing it's my calling is the feeling like it won't ever change. It's my true north.

The mission statement

To positively impact the lives of a million people in a significant way. To live a life of significance by serving a purpose greater than myself. To lead others to discover a shared purpose and positively impact the lives of countless others.

Significant is defined as making enough of impact so that the person I impact either mentions it to a friend or takes action. Action is defined as spending money, referring me to someone important to them, or taking the time to give me positive reinforcement. This is how I measure 'significant' in the I statement: I will positively impact a million people in a significant way. It's like when I doing a speaking gig and someone mentions me to someone else.

A Greater Purpose

It's much bigger than myself - it's not about the money and it's definitely not about me.

As a living example, I am the example of how others can live.

Instead of what if?, I say I will. Instead of Can I?, I say I am.

My statements don't end in question marks, they end in commas.

The only true first world problem we have is to solve the third world problem. The obligation of a life of privilege is to help those who lack a privilege.

The fact we elected a leader who optimizes vanity and narcissism, reveals a truth that we've lost touch with a very basic truth. Those whose purpose is only to serve themselves are not qualities we admire. How many of those who voted in favor of our current president are misguided in the belief that the purpose of their life is to serve them self before others?

When you find a purpose greater than yourself, you find flow.

My mission has a deadline:

How will I enroll others to fulfill this mission?
By example.
By providing tools to help them fulfill their own mission.

Q. Are you serving those who support your mission or serving the mission of others?
