I also attended a crowdfunding workshop with Bill Trammel but I am learning far more by studying his campaign history online. His first campaign in 2012 was unsuccessful, but he did raise over $6k.
His second campaign was successful but it's been taken down due to a copyright claim by the creator, Catan. Catan is a very succesful board game that has sold more than 22 million copies.
In 30 days, Bill raised $167,905 according to Kicktraq.
Both Bill & Kendra got featured on the Kickstarter Home Page and when that happens, you are almost guaranteed to get funded.
My client, Ted Fox, was heavily involved with this. He said that it completely consumed him for the duration of the campaign.
He raised over $500k for a book in 2015!! But to be clear, he had already written the very successful bestseller: The Lean Startup and already had a large following. That book of his continues to be a bestseller 9 years later. Many consider it mandatory reading for anyone doing a startup.
