Growth
Notes from Mindset by Carol Dweck
Fixed Mindset (our default):
- Aims for perfection
- Craves acknowledgment and praise
- Needs to show superiority over others
- Chooses easy over hard
- Views mistakes negatively
- Let failure define there limits
Growth Mindset
- Effort yields changes
- Not afraid to try
- Believes hard work and right attitude as the recipe for success
- That talent can be cultivated through effort and and experience.
- See's failure as an opportunity (to grow, learn, adapt).
- I define maximum effort as success regardless of the outcome because even if I fail, I succeeded by achieving max effort (level 10).
- I seek out challenges because it's the challenges (overcome or not) that provide the growth of experience points.
The rule of 72
Growth can be calculated based on an compounded interest.
At 6% interest, your money takes 72/6 or 12 years to double.
