Changes

Changes ripple outwards, like waves from rocks thrown into a pond. For example, imagine that you change just one thing. First, all of the things that touch the one thing feel the change in the one thing – and when they feel that change, they are changed themselves. Next, all the things that touch the things that touch the one thing feel those changes - and in feeling those changes, they are changed too. Then, all the things that touch the things that touch the things that touch the one thing are changed, and so on, until everything is changed.

As the ripples of change move outwards from the source, they usually become smaller, just like the ripples in a pond. However, the truth remains: we are all connected – not in a mystical way, but in a very physical and practical way, like a Rube-Goldberg machine, or the molecules of water in a pond.
