Notes from The Miracle Morning (Hal Elrod)

This is a great book, especially to start the new year!

It has me thinking a lot about my Merlin Calendar, and the Merlin Principal book I need to write!

One recurring idea is the plus1. He talks about that to become a 'level 10' person, we must conduct Level 10 actions. Why not use the +1 to get ourselves to act L-10? For example, give yourself a +1 for each activity you do that is reflective of a L-10 person.

To surround myself with successful people, join Rotary!

He outlines the reason people don't follow his advice:

Lack of Urgency

Remind yourself that NOW matters more than another other time in your life, because it's the holons you are attracting that impact who are becoming. The sooner you focus on the positive holons, the sooner you become who you want to be! No more waiting, wondering... You need to prepare yourself for the next nosedive in our economy. Never forget 2008.

The most successful people we admire are those who began before we did. They began focusing on the holon producers that brought them to where they are today. The sooner you start to fail, the sooner you will start to learn how to do it right.

Great passage:

"Your entire life changes the day you decide you will no longer accept mediocrity for yourself. When you realize that today is the most important day in your life. WHen you decide that now matters more than any other time because it is who you are becoming each day based on the decisions you make and actions you take that determine who you are for the rest of your life."

I made some notes in my journal.. it related to the concept Hal comes back to frequently. It was that our sole purpose is to become better each day. That is all you need to remember. Better everyday. Become a better husband, friend, partner, boss, client, provider, yogi. Become kinder, more grateful. As you become better in all these areas, life become better, and thus the blessing in growing older... it all gets better.

Think back of the times in your life when you've taken dramatic leaps forward in getting better at whatever it was. Did it follow periods of struggle?
