We would like to get as many of you loaded in on Friday as possible, so if you if you have not requested Early Load in time for Friday and can load in, please let me know and we will get you a time slot issued. We can only allow so many cars on campus at certain times so this is not an invitation to load in at anytime you want on Friday unless of course you can hand truck your goods to your booth from a parking space or parking lot. We do however (by appointment only) allow you to drive on campus and get as close to your booth as possible on Friday during selected times. We plan to send out all appointment times on Friday 7/14 by the end of the day so you can properly plan.
PLEASE KNOW THAT FRIDAY PARKING PASSES ARE NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH US and must be purchased at USC during load in process.
PARKING PASSES:
Parking passes will be sent electronically to the email address we have on file for you (the one you are reading this email on). These passes will be sent on Friday April 14th. They can be printed on a printer or left on your cell phone for scanning at the USC parking booth. This pass must be exchanged for a Yellow USC Parking permit for the lot assigned. Please follow the instructions on the parking permit.
With the growth of the Festival and amount of exhibitors we are currently not able to offer additional parking for sale. You will need to purchase parking from the booths on site if needed.
LOAD IN PLACARDS: You will be emailed your load in placard this week as well, this must be printed and placed on your dash for load in. This is the only way you can access the campus on Saturday and Sunday morning. Please remember ALL CARS MUST BE OFF CAMPUS by 8:45 am, no cars will be permitted on campus after 8:30 am so please arrive early and get your cars unloaded.

Hello Brian, Below is the link for you to download and print (preferably in color) your load in placard for your car. This placard permits you to drive 1 car on campus if you need to unload on either Saturday and/or Sunday morning. The placard is good for 1 car on both days.
Please note the placard must be placed on the dash of your car so the Load in Staff knows where to direct you. It is helpful to have the map printed as well but it is not required for our purpose but will help point you in the right direction.

Load in hours are as follows: Saturday April 22 from 6:00 am - 8:30 am Sunday April 23 from 7:00 am - 8:30 am
All vehicles MUST be off campus by 8:45 am so no car will be allowed to enter after 8:30 am You are only permitted 15 minutes to get your car unloaded and moved into the parking structure then you can return to your booth to set up. Your zone manager will remind you of the time and kindly ask you to remove your car as quickly as possible.
Festival Hours are: Saturday April 22 from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Sunday April 23 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Please close promptly each day Sunday you will be permitted to bring your car back on site to load your supplies, please use these same instructions to enter the campus. Cars will not be permitted on site until the Fire Marshal clears the Festival of Spectators so closing your booth promptly is extremely helpful

Festival of Books 2017 Insurance Requirements
All exhibitors for the LA Times Festival of Books must show proof of insurance with the following limits:
Exhibitor shall provide and maintain in effect workers’ compensation and Employee liability (if applicable) and comprehensive general liability insurance
Containing a waiver of subrogation in favor of LAT in such amount acceptable to LAT and evidence of such insurance shall be provided to LAT promptly upon its request. Limit is $1,000,000.00
