Disengage.

In work, it's intentionally taking your foot off the gas. Time blocks and batching is work.

Batch.

Q. What are the sub-objectives that lead into your prime objectives?

Pay attention to the similar tasks that can be batched.

  1. Creating content (audio/video)
  2. Writing
  3. Bookkeeping
  4. Customer service / sales / marketing (includes: Email, phone calls)
  5. Work order creation and project status updates
  6. R&D

Restore and explore

One of the weekly yoga classes I rarely miss is the restorative class. It gives me the opportunity to unplug and explore ideas deeper.

When I'm doing yoga, I'm working. Subconsciously, I'm working through client issues and it's usually when my greatest epiphanies arise.

The Reactive Loop

Left unchecked, we compulsively react. It's our default state. But never forget, it’s the silence between the notes that makes the music.

The aha moments rarely come from the incremental inbox-clearing mentality of, I forgot to… Please remind me to… Shouldn’t I?…I must remember to… - I notice these are client need reactions.
