Five Signs You're Not On The Right Path (And What To Do About It)

Erin Janus

Watch out for these 5 indicators that you are off track.

1 You are Jealous

Where does jealousy come from? From not doing what we know we ought to be doing. It's the thrown in our face reminder that someone else is.

When you are on your own path, doing your work, there's no reason to be jealous of others. Instead, you will find that you are inspired by it.

2 You let the opinions of others dictate your actions

When you do what feels right, there's no need to concern yourself with the opinions of others. In fact, letting other's opinions influence your behavior will only pull you off your path.

Do what feels right and pay less attention to others.

Step outside your comfort zone.

3 You are depressed

The sadness, hopelessness, and emptimness you feel - the thoughts of despair and depression, are simply indicators that you are not doing what you ought to be doing with your life.

4 You focus on others

5 You make excuses

When we lose something, we want it more. What's that all about?

I rarely thought about using my starbucks card until I lost it. Then I wanted to use it all the time.

I seem to care most about things that I lose or are taken way. What gives them such a charge?

When we had them, they seemed far less important. But when they are gone, they seem more important than anything we have. This seems pretty pointless, doesn't it?

When things are not going well for us, it's so easy to think back what might have been if only we'd ... (fill in the blank).

However, in truth, it would be easy to say the exact same thing on the other side of the coin.

For example, when life is not showing up the way I want it to, I begin to feel 'as if' we'd stayed in Colorado, all would be better.

When I talk to a friend in Colorado in fact, I want to hear things aren't so good.

I felt more a part of the vibrant entrepreneur community there. I feel like I outsider here.

When in reality, there is just as much innovation going on here...!
